History

The emergence of a group

It began with the takeover of BNG Staalconstructie from its parent company, B&G Groep. The investment company RijnDijk was formed. The RijnDijk Staalgroep [steel group] developed quickly. The engineering firm RijnDijk Engineering was established and the RijnDijk Staalgroep was separated from the factory in Budel. The head office of the RijnDijk Staalgroep was established in Eindhoven. In 2000, the RijnDijk Staalgroep took over the former NS division P&K Utrecht from Volker Stevin (which has since merged with Armada Mobility). This was followed by various takeovers including the Rotterdam company Lengkeek Staalbouw.

Complete range of specialisations

BAM Steel Structures of Schiedam was taken over to expand the services provided by the RijnDijk Staalgroep even further. The name BAM Steel Structures was changed back to its original name, HSM. The RijnDijk Staalgroep also underwent a name change. The word ‘Staal’ [steel] disappeared from the name. The ‘RijnDijk Groep’ was a better reflection of the fact that the group continued to diversify and that it was taking on responsibility for complete projects. In addition to this name change, the independent BV Rijndijk Steel Contracting was also established.

A new name: RijnDijk Groep becomes Andus Group

After the takeover of FIB Industries, the group has developed into a broadly oriented technical supplier for industry. The various operating companies of the group are leaders in their respective markets. The next step was taken in 2008. The shares of the company Gouda Vuurvast were acquired, which led to the RijnDijk Groep becoming an even broader partner for the industry. After all, the Gouda companies had nothing to do with steel. It was the ideal opportunity to justify a new name and a new motto. On 1 February 2009, the group got its current name with the motto: Serving the industry.

In 2011, Rijndijk Engineering and Rijndijk Steel Contracting BV were merged and jointly continued under the name RijnDijk Construction BV with production sites in Schagen and Budel.

Continued growth
In May 2012, Andus Group acquired Royal Van Voorden, in Zaltbommel, a foundry with a rich history of manufacturing products including pump casings and impellers for the dredging industry and propellers and nozzles for the shipping industry.

In December 2012, Andus Group acquired HVL Armada Outdoor. The company was subsequently divided into Armada Mobility, specialized in traveller facilities including shelters, information columns, signposting and cycle parking facilities, and Armada Janse, specialized in illuminated advertising signs and corporate identity signs. This takeover is also a perfect fit with Andus Group’s strategy of achieving steady growth by spreading its activities, sectors and geographical locations.

In 2017, Rijndijk continued under its current name RijnDijk Staalconstructies BV and from 1 May 2017 RijnDijk Engineering will continue as an independent engineering firm.
